The certificate does not seem to have been used, and no date of return is recorded, suggesting that Mahommeddeen decided not to return to Australia.

Statutory Declaration sworn by Mahommeddeen in application for a certificate exempting him from the dictation test, 25 February 1921

Mahommedeen states that he has been working as a camel driver in Australia for 32 years, first in Coolgardie, then between Mt Magnet and Port Hedland for 26 years. Like most of the camel drivers he was illiterate, and signed his name with an 'x'.
